The terrific “Lyrics & Lyricists” series at 92nd St Y (1395 Lexington Ave @ 92nd St, www.92Y.org/Lyrics) kicks off 2012 with Robert Kimball’s Makin’ Whoopee: Walter Donaldson, Gus Kahn and the Jazz Age January 7–9. Featuring Vince Giordano & The Nighthawks orchestra, Makin’ Whoopee will be hosted by Charles Osgood and will star Christine Andreas, Jason Graae, Howard McGillin, and William Bolcolm and Joan Morris.

Fabulous funnyman Jay Rogers and musical director/composer/accompanist Keith Thompson are Back From the Abyss for one night only on January 9 at the Metropolitan Room (34 W 22nd St, wwww.MetropolitanRoom.com). Don’t miss the guys who brought you Yes, This Is My Real Voice, Broccoli Head, and Kooky Tunes.

And on Tuesday, January 10, don’t miss amazing Broadway pianist Philip Fortenberry with star vocalists Franc D’Ambrosio and Jeri Sager in concert at The Laurie Beechman Theater (407 W 42nd St, www.WestBankCafe.com) at 9pm, followed by Broadway hottie David Burnham in a rare appearance at 10:30pm.

Legendary pop star Petula Clark will make an exclusive appearance at Feinstein’s at Loews Regency (540 Park Ave @ 61st St, www.FeinsteinsAtTheRegency.com) January 24–February 4. Also at Feinstein’s this month are Lucie Arnaz’s Latin Roots January 5–8, Anna Bergman’s You and the Night and the Music January 13–14 and Our Sinatra: A Musical Celebration January 17–21.
