Exclusive Video of Betty White Talking About Rue McClanahan and George Clooney’s Doodling
(Rue McClanahan and Betty White)
Forget the Elizabeth Taylor auction! This Saturday, December 17, Rue McClanahan’s estate will begin a year-long sale of costumes, jewelry and personal items (like doodles and even movie tickets) at New York's Hutter Auction Galleries (444 W 55th St). One of the sales organizers, Michael J. La Rue, tells us that the actress, otherwise known as the Golden Girl's Blanche Devereaux, said “she wanted her fans to have access to her personal property after she was gone.”
Items up for auction include:
· Several Golden Girls outfits
· A couple of Rue's Golden Girls scripts, one signed by the other stars of the show and one containing her personal notes and art which she called "doodles."
· Costume jewelry
· A purse she carried to the 1986 Emmys
· Personal letters by Rue and other writings.
To help promote the sale, La Rue shared with us this exclusive video of McClanahan's Golden Girls co-star Betty White sharing details about her dear friend, including that the last movie McClanahan ever saw was White’s The Proposal. Check out the video below.
