Her Havana-inspired hit “Conga” may be nearing its third decade on dance floors, but Gloria Estefan is feeling better than ever. “I love life, I really feel great. You know you see your kids growing and that’s the only way I see time going by,” she told us when we chatted with her over the phone recently. The Queen of Latin Pop, who at a spry 54 is still killing it on stage—without pulling any hamstrings, we might add—collaborated with Pharrell on her 26th album, Miss Little Havana, which dropped last September. “It was a blast working with Pharell. It’s always fun for me. I just love it,” the Cuban-born singer says. “I think we are just blessed and privileged to make our living at one of the most beautiful parts of life, which is music, entertainment.” Ready to freak? The saucy songstress—who told us she loves her gay fans—is premiering her newest video, “Hotel Nacional,” at Splash this Friday. “I’m psyched. I’ve never been [to Splash], so it should be a lot of fun,” Estefan says. “You know, [I] just [want to] take in the New York experience; fantastic restaurants, get a little bit of the cold, which we rarely get here in Miami. It’s a whole different vibe. We love New York.”
