(Will Benjamin Maisani giving Bedlam a West Village brother?)

Overheard At A Party
Rumor has it that Eastern Bloc co-owner Benjamin Maisani is working on opening another gay bar, this time in the West Village. We hear he’s hit some roadblocks, with progress dragging in ways it never did with his East Village establishments, Eastern Bloc and Bedlam. Things are starting to progress, however, and Maisani expects to open the new gay watering hole sometime this spring. Meanwhile, Ladyfag tells us that her monthly party ElevenEleven goes weekly starting this Friday night. Start getting your looks together now!

The Cat’s Out of the Bag
Lonely hearts, take comfort: One of the most anticipated new parties of the season is making its big debut on Valentine’s Day. Susanne Bartsch is teaming up with Patricia Field to launch Catwalk at the newly redesigned and re-opened Marquee with a special Valentine’s Day Ball. This should be a love-in of cosmic proportions!

The Gay Bar Re-Shuffle
Oh, the ever-shifting sands of New York gay nightlife! Someone’s always moving on or moving out, while something else is launching. This week, we hear that Will Clark’s long-running Porno Bingo is on the move again after The Ritz gave it the axe. Clark tells us he’s confident he’ll have a new venue sorted out soon after his final show at the HK bar on Feb 7. Meanwhile, Mocha Lite and Misty Meaner are launching their latest collaboration, Mermaids Only, at Bartini on Feb 6. Across the river, Steven McEnrue, one of the masterminds behind Metropolitan and This ‘N That (don’t call it TNT!) is planning to expand North Brooklyn’s gay offerings this spring with a new venue he’s calling Spanky’s as well as a year-round café in The Met’s backyard.
