Marina and the Diamonds Kills the "Song of the Summer" Competition With 'Electra Heart'
(Marina and the Diamonds)
Move over, Adele—there's a new Brit in town! We first heard from Welsch singer/songwriter Marina and the Diamonds back in 2009, the year she released her chart-topping EP, The Crown Jewels. After rising to the number two spot on the BBC Sound of 2010 list, the blond(ish) bombshell has discovered what an 808 drum can do for her voice and she's not fooling around with it on the new album, Electra Love, which has quickly become one of the most anticipated electro-pop releases of the summer.
Although you'll have to wait for the album to drop early next week, she's already released a kick-ass video for the first single, Primadonna (below). Can't get enough? Neither can these club kids—check out Marco Ovando's nightlife mashup of the single featuring famed nightcrawlers Epiphany Get Paid, Amanda Lepore, Cazwell and more!
