We popped by the newly full-time-homo Veronica People’s Club on Friday night to check out their hit weekly party Kielbasa. It certainly turned out to be a sausage fest as the flirty group of gays engaged in heavy drinking during the night's two open bars and dancing in their undies on the bar.
Immediately upon entering, we were met by promoter Lee Chappell who engaged us in a little convo about how he used to live two blocks away from this spot. Later, acid-tongued queen Misty Meaner, who acted as the evening's hostess, frantically pulled us aside to discuss a pressing matter involving Sugarland. “I walked out of there last night and they gave me a counterfeit ten dollar bill. It was change, not pay. They better be careful. Where there’s one, there’s more," she exclaimed with total seriousness. Meaner then went on to talk of how Sugarland has gotten numerous noise complaints in recent weeks from the building next door. Do we have to mention that it’s not fully built yet?
We finally found the party's promoter Kelly Gorman dancing on top of the bar. He jumped down so we could get a word or two out of him regarding Veronica’s recent decision to flip-flop. “The place was always on the cusp of being a gay bar but the Friday party pushed them into the pink. It was a natural progression. I think that a new gay venue in Brooklyn has been needed for a while and the gays have been responding well,” Gorman explained all the while being pantless.
