A lot of elements go into pulling off the Black Party, which is why this year the Saint at Large has expanded their circuit extravaganza with an afternoon-long erotic expo. Described as “the behind the scenes of the world’s sexiest party,” the expo will offer more of the “strange live acts” from the larger circuit party and vendors from across the gay adult world, from porn to fetish wear—but at a slightly more accessible hour. “[We are] opening the doors to people who wouldn’t normally see themselves in a sea of men dancing tribal on the dance floor,” says Black Party Expo Director Matt Humphrey. “This is an opportunity for an Average Joe or straight couples and women [to] kinda come in and experience these elements without having go to the Black Party themselves.” What mysteries await curious patrons? Humphrey helped us sift through the fetish free-for-all to pick out some of the day’s highlights.
 
1. The expo is hosted by drag queen Acid Betty.
 
2. NY Jox will be premiering a new line of products in a special fashion show highlighting the different fashions at the Black Party over the last 30 years.
 
3. Spank will be distributing a special Black Party-edition of their queer art zine in addition to having resident DJs Will and Sean B spinning.
 
4. Anti-Heroes gay adult cartoons will be selling their kitschy hardcore comics.
 
5. Get a shine and a trim at the bootblack and barber station.
 
6. Chocolate Cream/BC Productions will be offering lap dances throughout the day.
