Anthony Keegan showed some incredible stuff at the NoMad Hotel. It was very inspired by An Officer and a Gentleman. There were beautiful sweaters with the words “officer” and “gentleman” actually stitched on them. And there was this great sort of safari trench-y jacket. He had the most beautiful models in his
collection—the boys were hot even in the freezing cold.
Duckie Brown

Their stuff is all very “me”—fantastic plaid jackets and cropped pants. I see plaid as a bit of a trend. You see it on the street, and Mark Indelicato has been wearing the cutest plaid jacket on Ugly Betty this season. Get your plaid on!
David Delfin

His designs are beautiful—a lot of mustards and grays. And he had the best shoes in the tents—these mustard Louboutin booties with red soles. To die!
Thom Browne
thombrowne.com
Thom was the most over-the-top in menswear. He did dresses for men. The finale was a long skirt with fur tails. One male model was in a dress with a corset. I’d love to see someone pull it off in the real world, but Thom does it for show. He’s a pioneer.

The Blonds

Phillipe and David’s collection was called “Strange Fruit.” Phillipe came out in a monkey suit, which came off to reveal a jewel bustier. And the top part of the monkey suit became a jacket. It was very Marlene Dietrich in Blonde Venus. Patricia Field, Michael Musto, Kenny Kenny were there—all the downtown folks. It was like theater, and these are clothes for pop stars to wear.
Charlotte Ronson

Her look was very military. Dark colors and cinched waists with lots of boots. But they’re wearable clothes for young women.
Stephen Burrows
stephenburrows.com
Stephen’s a designer from the ’70s, part of that Studio 54 scene. But he’s very relevant. You saw these wonderful animal prints and bold colors. And he’s just the master of jersey and draping. The master. Pat Cleveland was there and her daughter walked in the show.
Ralph Rucci
Very elegant clothes, which you expect from the only American couturier. Ralph does wearable, beautiful pieces. The crowd was interesting—Martha Stewart, Whoopi Goldberg, Andre Leon Talley. Though, you didn’t see the mob of celebrities that you have in the past. I think that’s sort of falling out of favor.

Biggest Drama
The week obviously started on a sad note with the death of Alexander McQueen. But the show must go on. Alexander would’ve wanted it to.
Most Ubiquitous Celebrity
Kelly Osbourne. She was positively everywhere—at Pat Field’s show, walking at Betsey Johnson’s show. She looked terrific and svelte, and was very friendly.
Dapper Dandies of Fashion Week
James Aguiar of Full Frontal Fashion. He looked fantastic in Paul Smith. Hamish Bowles from Vogue. Always fantastic.
Favorite Fashion PR Team
Mao—they outdid themselves with the Blonds. There was none of that chaos; it was organized and well executed. And they did Betsey’s show, which was a really packed space.
The One Piece Patrick Would Kill For
I would grab the snowflake jacket with fur hood from Thom Browne. It was this grey coat with white snowflakes embroidered on it. My second-place pick would be a hot-pink coat that David Delfin did. Oh, and the mustard boots by Louboutin. But not together, of course! N
