SCENE + HEARD: Miami's Smoldering Sun Melts Neighborhood Rivalries As New York Boys Rage At Winter Party

Although our very own circuit home Roxy is dead (or is it?), the New York boys still turned it out for the The National Gay Lesbian Task Force's annual Winter Party Festival in Miami Beach last weekend. Donning their skimpiest AussieBums and sleekest shades, they were easy to spot in the crowd at every party. “I couldn’t wait to get out of the cold and can’t wait to go back to Spring in New York!” said Hell’s Kitchen darling James Davies. Neighborhood and borough rivalries melted under the Miami sun and locals and tourists alike raged at such parties as Under One Sun which was held at the festival’s host hotel the Doubletree Surfcomber Resort. 

Co-producers and DJs for the event, the Perry Twins, mixed some of our favorite pop and house throwbacks with the freshest pop beats (video below) while the boys were body painted by Gaydar.net who employed go-go boy Brandon Propst and kept hydrated thanks to many accessible bars throughout the vast pool and sundeck area. Here’s to next year and all grabbing a round at the Palace Bar when the sun begins to set! —Christopher Dilley
