SCENE + HEARD: Su Casa Es Muy Guapo Wednesday Nights

Those who missed Girl Talk performing for free over the summer can rejoice because DJ Martial at Su Casa Wednesdays brings all of the fun of the pop-amalgam creating Girl Talk at one of the most buzzed about weekday parties New York has seen in a quite some time.

“We try and keep it under the radar and different from any other gay party,” said proprietor Michael Cohen. “We try to keep out the snobs and cunts and I don’t allow shirts off or anything of the like. We’re keeping it as good clean fun with good friends.” 

With word spread by table hosts like Cameron Moir—from Cohen’s time at Upstairs—and Mark Holcomb, the house was filled by cute boys toting strong drinks by week three. Though the space itself is not huge, the sense of intimacy combined with enough room to dance, makes for just the right vibe on a Wednesday night. —Christopher Dilley
