The dance floor at Splash smelled like sweat and candy when we arrived at around 10pm on New Year's Eve. There was a live feed from Times Square on three giant screens, go-gos bounding across every inch of the bar, and promoter Dougie Meyer and manager Greg Jones gearing up for a full 24 hours of partying (and liquor service) well into the next day. "It's almost impossible to walk around in here," Jones shouted above the pulsating music. "We knew we were going to get a huge crowd tonight, but this is insane!"

We fully expected the bar to be packed— it’s not often that those infamous porn gods, the Bel Ami boys,  make an appearance in the Western Hemisphere! (We caught Meyer smuggling drinks for the Czech gods in the back.) As 2010 flitted away, the fantastic four stripped down and took to the stage for a midnight orgy/kiss before throwing a sack of porn into the eager masses. Although they didn’t have much to say, we didn’t mind— We’ve heard enough gsharfs and eyohs out of them to last a lifetime. We kid! We kid! —Matthew Tharrett

FIRE ISLAND: DJ Vito Fun Schools Us On The New Pavilion, But Isn't A Dick About It

With the opening of the revamped Fire Island Pines Pavilion and its newly integrated staircases and plein-air feeling, the boys on vacay have more reasons to drop by than just High Tea at the View Deck and low carbs at the Pantry. With the influx of people over Memorial Day weekend, a new midday Saturday pool party debuted, with DJ Vito Fun spinning and plenty of sun and fun around the Blue Whale’s pool deck. Fun, who wore a testicular tee for the occasion (see above), has been spinning on the island since 2007 and is totes in love with girlfriend Jessica Resler whose brand strategy firm, Muffin Cupcake,  now reps the Pines. The premier installment of the swim soiree included a bar-top performance by “My Menorah” diva Chevonne (see video below). “The new Pavilion is fully ready and functional for more of a party [feel] rather than an 'exclude-people' atmosphere,” said Fun from behind the booth. “Having the Pavilion open at night, and the High Tea deck and the staircase and everyone going back and forth from the parties...It reminds me a lot of the old Pavilion, which flowed a lot better,” he added.

SCENE + HEARD: Undergear Brings Together Fashion And Bowling Shoes For Keith Haring Launch

Undergear may have found the only way to make the gays give up their designer clogs—have them don bowling shoes at the Undergear for Keith Haring Limited  Collection launch party at Lucky Strike Lanes last night. Of course it wasn't models Paul Marron and James Guardino's footwear that had tongues wagging but their rippling muscles, perfectly displayed in Haring-inspired tees. The men's apparel company has whipped up a whole line of tees, briefs and other goodies emblazoned with Haring's signature imagery and signature. The launch event—which featured free bowling, food, music and photos of scantily clad studs—commemorates 20 years since the passing of the visionary artist and community activist.

We caught Splash manager Dougie Meyer on a rare night off from his Chelsea hot spot, chatting up the chisled models. The usually busy bee told us that it was to be a chill night for him, but others geared up for visits to Amanda Lepore’s Big Top at Carnival and Su Casa. Speaking of the speakeasy above Qdoba, we spied promoter Spencer K before he fluttered out the door to head to the Village venue, and sized up Spring Awakening alum Gideon Glick as he was knocking down drinks—and pins—with a circle of friends. Hopefully the weather will get warmer quick. We want to see these boys in their skimpy Undergearl! –Christopher Dilley

SCENE + HEARD: Laura Bell Bundy Puts The "Cunt Back In Country"

| More

(Laura Bell Bundy & Dougie Meyer @ Splash)

“This was my first performance period with my new music!” exclaimed an exuberant and surely exhausted Laura Bell Bundy after her first set of songs  at Splash's John Blair Saturdays. Bringing remixed versions off of her new country album Achin' and Shakin', Bundy transformed before our eyes from Broadway princess (of Hairspray, Wicked and Legally Blonde fame) to pop diva with the aid of sexy dancers and buxom backup singers.

“I’ve heard it said that you [should] give your music back to your fans first,” said Bundy, “and the gays have always been my first fans! Like they said in Sex And The City: ‘First the gays, then the girls and then the rest!’” —Christopher Dilley

SCENE + HEARD: Tabatha's Splash Takeover: Sharp-Tongued Hair Maven Meets Her Match in mr.Black's Myk'l

| More

“It’s been overwhelming, the support I’ve gotten from the gay community” said Tabatha Coffey of Bravo’s Tabatha’s Salon Takeover at last night’s Campus Thursdays at Splash. Strong, enigmatic women of character and conviction can have one of two reactions from gay men: fear or exalted praise. “It has been nothing but love,” continued Coffey confirming that she has experienced the latter. The savvy business owner and out lesbian was at Splash to meet and greet fans including what many have pointed out as her male twin: promoter Myk’l Cummins.
