6 Ways to Celebrate Pride with the Cast of Ruthless! The Musical

The smash hit musical Ruthless! has been extended through September 10 with a special summer discount offer exclusively for Next readers! $34 tickets (normally $69.50) all summer long to this fabulous night out at the theatre for you and your besties.

Ruthless! opened last summer to rave reviews led by Entertainment Weekly, which called the show, “Uproarious! A mash-up of The Bad Seed, Gypsy, All About Eve, plus the films of Douglas Sirk and John Waters!” The musical is about Tina Denmark, a pretty, charming, and diabolical eight-year-old who “was born to entertain.” With the encouragement of slick and overbearing potential agent Sylvia St. Croix, Tina will do anything to play the lead in her school play. But where does such remarkable talent and unstoppable ambition come from? The answer may shock you!

We touched base with the wonderful cast and crew to find out how they will be celebrating pride:

Sylvia will be celebrating life, love, and liberty. She will be visible and show that she belongs to a community, a city, a nation, and the world. She will be spreading hope and be a force that things will get better. She won’t forget and make sure others don’t either because in truth… we are all the same inside! This year I am spending Gay Pride Day quietly at home in the country with my husband, Marvin Laird, and our three canine kids. Our “celebration” this year will be a day of extended meditation and prayer for the devastating losses and the inspiring gains our community has experienced this year.
