Blast Off!

For the second year in a row, New Jersey’s Sand Blast will take over Atlantic City for a whole weekend of gay festivities on the beach. “Sand Blast’s departure from Asbury Park was a difficult decision to make,” explains executive producer Brad Hurtado, “but taking the event down the shore to Atlantic City allowed us to give our guests an experience that was unlike anything we could have achieved in Asbury Park.”

This year, thanks to some exciting new partnerships, Hurtado hopes to make the three-day party a world-renowned gay event. “Sand Blast continues to draw the majority of our guests from New York City, Philadelphia, and New Jersey, but in recent years we’ve had guests joining us from Spain, Italy, Greece, and throughout Europe as our reputation grows and people discover that Sand Blast delivers the perfect summer beach weekend.” Sand Blast has also increased the quality and variety of its DJ lineup, with sets from Montreal’s Alain Jackinsky, Italy’s Phil Romano, Spain’s Dani Toro, and U.S. heavy hitters Morabito, Aron, Eddie Elias, Eddie Martinez, and Dawson.

What makes Sand Blast special, Hurtado explains, is its ability to bring a diverse LGBT crowd together for amazing music in a beautiful, luxurious location. “Sand Blast has always been about introducing our guests to the beauty of the Jersey Shore. Atlantic City is the perfect mix of both astounding entertainment venues and amazing beaches.”
