The NYC BURN!, led by the never-egotistical Burnie DuRant Jr, made a forceful showing in their national tournament debut. Hockey, Hockey Everywhere: The New York City Gay Hockey Association kicked off its spring 2012 season with a bang earlier this month. The Wizards, returning from a crushing blow in last season’s playoffs, were trumped by the Boxers 8-0. The Hotshots whooped the Polar Bears in their first matchup, 5-1. And the Westies, NYCGHA’s newest team of thugs (not little dogs), beat the Blizzard in a 5-4 shoot-out. NYCGayHockey.org
