On Stage this Month: January

It’s 2013 and the first show we’re seeing this year is a Sound Check fave: Cudzoo & The Faggettes play Mercury Lounge on January 4. On the 11th, Morrissey plays BAM’s Howard Gilman Opera House while Purity Ring plays the first of two shows at Webster Hall. Niki and the Dove are at Bowery Ballroom on Jan 12, and on the 16th Mykki Blanco plays Mercury Lounge. Ellie Goulding plays Terminal 5 on the 21st and 22nd, while Soundgarden takes the stage at the Hammerstein Ballroom on the 22nd and 23rd. January 23rd also sees My Brightest Diamond at Bowery Ballroom. On the 25th, The xx play Hammerstein Ballroom while Ra Ra Riot are at Webster Hall. Tegan and Sara play a double header at the Beacon Theater, January 28th and 29th, and Cat Power plays Terminal 5 on the 29th as well. On the 30th, head down to Santos Party House for Cherie Lily’s EP release party, with performances by Cazwell, Breedlove, Miss Guy and more. Then on the 31st, wrap up the month with Keane at Radio City Music Hall.
