On Stage This Month: June, 2013

Our new favorite band opens for our old favorite band as Avan Lava join The Drums at Webster Hall on June 10. Queer folk trio Kings plays the first of two New York gigs on June 12 at Cake Shop and trip-hop superstar Tricky takes the stage at Webster Hall on the 13th.

June 15 sees the return of homopunk party Queers, Beers and Rears with a special one-off event at Williamsburg’s Union Pool featuring legendary queercore band Limp Wris. The guys from Limp Wrist also play Le Poisson Rouge on the 16th, while Light Asylum takes on Cameo Gallery in Williamsburg.

On the 16th and 17th, Iggy Azalea plays two sold-out Bowery Ballroom shows and on the 19th the B-52s and The Go-Gos co-headline at Roseland Ballroom. Kings is back for their second June date on the 20th at Pianos, and on the 22nd you might consider making the trek out to Jones Beach to see Fleetwood Mac.

Also on the 22nd, Hank & Cupcakes plays Pianos. Courtney Love is bringing her own brilliant brand of crazy to Greenpoint’s Warsaw on June 26, while Glee cutie Darren Criss takes the stage at Roseland on the 27th.

Wrapping up the month is our other other favorite band Baby Alpaca at Mercury Lounge on June 28.
