Andanada
Andanada (141 W 69th St, 646-692-8762, Andanada141.com) has launched a new lunch menu featuring Spanish dishes that blend the traditional and modern. Look for sautéed artichokes, oxtail and pork meatballs, and towering Jamon Iberico sandwiches. Cazuelas include soft-poached eggs with goat cream cheese and spinach, and practically still-flopping market fish.
Nerai (55 E 54th St, 212-759-5554, NeraiNYC.com) in midtown has a new view of Greek cuisine, offering up a ton of seafood and drinks that are served simply. A fisherman’s carpaccio with sea urchin, lobster with black linguine and an orzo casserole with short ribs already has us rolling in the aisles and longing for the isles.
“Wild Style” is a recently installed art project by artist/fashion-illustrator Jeffrey Fulvimari, who etched the sketches for Madonna’s children’s books, in collaboration with Cafeteria Group, currently on display in the new PDR room at Cafeteria (119 Seventh Ave, 212-414-1717, CafeteriaGroup.com). Whimsical wooden skateboards pay homage to ’80s New York nightlife.
Chef René Bastian Stein (Seäsonal) has joined Hospoda (321 E 73rd St, 212-861-1038, HospodaNYC.com) as Executive Chef. Stein is creating “New American beer-inspired cuisine” for the spot. Dishes are infused with beer or cooked with ingredients that are used to make beer, and are suited to be paired with the hoppy beverage. We’ll drink to that!
